Webmin on Ubuntu 10.04

Webmin is a web-based interface for system administration for Linux/Unix. Using any modern web browser, you can setup a DHCP server, a DNS Server, user accounts, Apache, file sharing and much more.Webmin removes the need to manually edit Unix configuration files.

First install dependencies from console as root

# cd /tmp
# mkdir webmin
# cd webmin
# apt-get install wget libnet-ssleay-perl libauthen-pam-perl libio-pty-perl libapt-pkg-perl apt-show-versions

Download Webmin

# wget http://downloads.sourceforge.net/project/webadmin/webmin/1.570/webmin_1.570_all.deb

Install Webmin

# dpkg  -i  webmin_1.570_all.deb

You should now be able to visit your webmin login page on port 10000 (use your own IP number):

https://your_IP:10000
